Monday 6th November - walk **** – Curcuit of Christchurch Park in
Ipswich - sunny.
As we had an appointment in Ipswich first thing in the morning we decided
to pack a picnic and make a day of it:) I had time to do my exercises
before setting off for Ipswich in lovely winter sunshine, after the
appointment we drove to Christchurch Park for a walk, it took awhile to
find somewhere to park, there certainly is some lovely houses in that area!
We then walked the short distance to the park full of autumn colours with
workmen clearing stuff away from the weekends firework display and getting
things ready for remembrance service nice weekend. We started off walking
past the bog round lake to the Mansion house before taking the path down
through the woods to the wild lakes and we have never seen so many
squirrels, we stopped to feed most of them with a bag of peanuts we took,
it was brilliant and loved it! Ducks were diving in the lake along with
several geese and gulls with some mandarin ducks, we also spotted a few
magpies and jays. We reached our bench by the bowls green to enjoy our
picnic I the warm sunshine, sadly the squirrels did not join us:( We soon
found the squirrels when we continued our walk, then past the tennis
courts, under the lane to the aboritom before taking the dirt path right
around the far edge of the park and back to the van, walking nearly 3
miles. Then we had a nice couple of hours visiting my old dad who was on
fine form:)
PS. There was lots of lovely pics taken of the northern lights yesterday
and I didn’t even know you could see them so I decided to head down to
Felixstowe Ferry because the night was once again very clear in hope of
getting my first ever Aurora pic and got lucky I think with a hint of red
in the sky, not visable to the naked eye though.
